Although routine is a good mentor, there is still a life to live and we shouldn't get to ridged, especially if they're in pre-school. That being said, we shouldn't allow them too much freedom either as it does seem more difficult to get them back in the swing of things if they don't attend school often. I love surprising my daughter with a day-off now and then - we go to the beach or do something fun we don't always get to do. I totally agree.
